hey guys
does anyone know if there are any suppliers in lil old adelaide that can order in angel eyes for the TS model? and whether its at a reasonable price or complete rip off as i have just been quoted.

i've had my HID kit for over a year, but the projectors would add more "WOW" factor to my car.

Angel eyes are hard to find in oz. Try ebay you will find some from nz,
Quite a few members inc myself have brought from them. You will be up for around about $400 postage to aus.

Good luck cheers Dave.

Definitely get yourself a set of projector lensed headlights, they look heaps better and you won't be blinding other road users as much as with the stock headlights fitted with HID's ;)

the stock units with HID arent dazzling other drivers, and the police arent paying much attention to me either. i just want the projectors to distribute the light more evenly

Simple fact is that unfortunately these aftermarket headlight sets 'will not' distribute the light more evenly ! the Astras factory headlights do a much better job of that...they will however look better and the angel eyes are very cool...

They have a projector that leaves a sharp hard edge of light which is not ideal and takes a while to get used to.

They will of course as all projector lenses contain the spread of light so as to cause less dazzling, you may think the current set up is ok, but it's not, unless you've got them angled very low.....I know because I've done all of this on mine.

I encounter quite a few other types of cars on the road with HID's installed in normal reflective back headlights and they all cause blinding/dazzling to some extent, but most are never picked up by the cops.

ok, cool thanks for that info... you learn something new every day :)
well i havent got other road users flashing their hi beams at me, so i suppose its not that bad then. however the light distributed seems a little patchy... does anyone know or could suggest a fix for that?

I still reckon you should go for a set of projector aftermarkets if you can get them at a good price - you should get a set for $500 tops... :)

I don't think there's a fix for the factory headlights patchiness, but I believe there may be a fix to these aftermarket units (ie: the hard edge of light) - 'JR' I think or another member is trying this ATM on his, if successful, I might do the same on mine :)

yeah, i'm working on the "hard edge" aspect of the angel eyes.
i didn't get a chance to play with the optics on the weekend, and i won't b able to for another 2 weeks :(

but as soon as i do, i'll post up some info - will b handy for all "projector" users :D

as for suppliers - ur best bet is eBay. places like autojoy (i think) do sell angeleyes for the astra. but they're the FK version.

They're the ones I tried trebor .. I sent them back because the quality of them in general was pretty poor compared to the Depo brand light that maloo97 and I (and a few others) have

damn... knew it was to good to be true

not to mention that those angel eyes are not designed for hid/xenon globes due to the plastic projector lens.
i also believe they don't have the motorised level-adjust like the stock & DEPO headlights do.
hence why its cheaper.
