Hey guys,

Taking the CD badges off the side of my astra, i got fishing line under the badge and pulled it off but it has a blacky colour quite thick residue left.

How would i go about removing this glue without scratching the car?

Its an astra btw.

Tar/bitumen removal car cleaning product should do it without hurting the paint.

Eucalyptus oil works a treat as BR said previously ;)

I've debadged my whole car...except rear holden badge.

I used orange goo remover with a soft cloth to almost soak the glue in orange goo remover...then gentle and patiently pick/scratch it off carefully with your fingernail.

Then I did a full detail on the panels...wash, clay, swirl removal and wax/sealant...now you can't see any evidence that the badges were ever there!

Good luck...:)

Further to this, does anyone know if you can use Prepsol on the rear chrome strip on the Astra? I want to remove the ASTRA badge and get rid of the black stuff underneath. Only because it's chrome and not paint, I didn't want there to be any hassles or reactions. I know you can use other stuff, but I have Prepsol at home, so would prefer to use that

I used dental floss and eraser to clean the paint of glue.
Then polish the "matte" spot. Finished :)

hey guys,

when debadging the car, does the paintwork show a 'blemish' or tan line type thing?

yes you have to polish the area of the badge.
