Seems to have only the fortwo coupe/cabrio available on its sites worldwide.

Seems a strange tactic for world domination of the Automobile market. (Yes Pinky, we CAN do it with just one car)

Slow sales of the other models lead to their deletion.

Good news for Smart is that in the USA where they are soon to launch, they have huge pre-orders.

Thats not why they were deleted. They were deleted so Daimler AG could constrate there efforts on sellingthe Smart Brand in the USA .

The amount of money required to launch the Smart Brand into the USA was huge. And rather contuine with Models that were selling well in Europe they have shifted the focus to becoming a global company rather then staying only In Europe and the Australaisa regions.

Not because numbers were low. More to do with Global Expansion of the Brand. And before you even think about shooting me down on this dont bother. I work for Daimler AG (formerly known as Daimler Chrysler) and have know about this for well over 2 years that the global Expansion as i revieved classified internal Information about it 2 years ago.

It all happen about 2 months after they annonced a Soft off road vehicle was in there line of sight. The Four Two was not long released after the annoncement but i believe its still in production in europe. The thing that kills the Smart here is the Price and the publics views on the car. I have been lucky enough to have had one for about 8 weeks. I found the car to be qurky funky and fun. The Roadster was a great bit of gear. Something i wish i had bought when there was an internal auction too staff of ex lease cars that employees can lease. from memory i think the roadsters were going for 23k with km ranging between 3,000km -12,000km. A huge discount considering a new one was $42,990

Mmmmmm secret stuff :) Who was Merc partnered with when Smart was originally concieved? I heard it was Swatch (as in the watch co.)

I think the fortwo is about $4-5k overpriced, They'd be everywhere if they were a bit less. Im sure someone would also have the Hayabusa mod available here if they were in decent quantities. ($35k supercar)

The Roadster was WAAY overpriced for what it was. Currently they are between $20-30k with 30-50k Kms

Price wise your correct.

As for the Swatch Partnership i believe your correct but there was never really any firm information on that.
