you could go to any paint product shop and ask for prepsol which is a tar and wax remover which gets sticky residue off aswell

i used eucy oil & metho spirit. i found the metho to work better.

the key is to let it soak into the gooey stuff - then rub it off.
n do it bit by bit, i.e - start from one corner, n work ur way through.

it took me less than a minute to remove the badge, but half-hour to remove the gooey stuff!!! fark.

Not overly cheap at around $6.99 for a 100ml plastic bottle (also predominantly orange in colour), but there's absolutely nothing it won't remove or dissolve, and is what I used to very easily remove the glue residue from the tailgate of my Veccy B.

I also have it on good authority that it's the very best product available for refurbishing those ornamental pipes that some very naughty people use for smoking that illicit green substance which leaves a thick, black, sticky tar residue which is (I've heard) almost impossible to remove from such pipes once they've been used for that purpose, and having actually seen the results, I couldn't agree more.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooo easy.

Step 1.
Pour boiling water over badge to make the black stuff behind it soft.

Step 2.
Get fishing line and gently wiggle it down side to side, while slowly pulling it towards you.

Step 3.
Once badge has been removed, get a clean rag and a small amount of Prepsol, work it in in a circular motion. The black stuff will come off in less than 5 minutes.

Step 4.
Polish back to new

DONE.

The bug and tar remover also works wonders for cleaning the sout off your exhaust pipes especially if they are stainless steel. makes them look brand new! put that stuff anywhere and it comes clean!
