Nope, they'll never produce it, coz the market value on a car like that would be too high for a "Golf". Takes the idea of being the "People's Car" away...

SSS_Hoon
18th May 2007, 02:43 PM
yeah its just like all concept cars they never get built.

and even if they did build them(concept cars in general) the price would be high, and never make it here.

WOW  I like it..........

Agree with the above though, I'll bet a production version will never see the light of day :(

But there's the difference..thats a Bugatti...not a VW Golf:p

mmmmm maybe oneightoo has a point as Bugatti and VW are under the same 'umbrella'

would be nice to see.. would it be rwd or use the awd the r32 has? surely it'd need a whole new setup to handle that much power..

Wraith
18th May 2007, 03:28 PM
Most definitely AWD :)

It has its engine mid mounted, so would work perfectly as an AWD...

Why does it need such a huge air intake at the front if the engine is hidden behind the driver? Surely even a huge radiator wouldnt benefit from such a massive aperature. If your going for 325km/h top speed, wouldnt aerodynamics at the front end be an issue?
(and yes, I'm aware its just a picture of a possible concenpt... but still!!)

What a Waste of a Engine.
Don't get me Wrong, I like Golf GTi's and R32's.
But a Bentley Continental wieghs twice as Much, Is only .5 seconds slower to 62mph and has a higher Top Speed.

Put brands aside here for a moment.. Thats one awesome car... But ill have the girls in the pic that they uncover it. Daiman . Those rims would look good an Amanda's GTi. Polished rims would look good i think

i love it! such an understated pure madness car that is! a Golf that does 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds must be something special, don't you think?
i would rather buy that Bug on steroids than, say, a Gallardo :)
don't think it will ever be launched, because would go against too many models within the empire...

They all said that Renault would never produce the V6 clio as it detracted from the reason it was designed and built (Being a small town car etc).

They DID build it and my word it was popular ! roaring v6 in the BOOT :D - bliss !!!

Yeah - that they did ;) - its own little car park party trick :D :D
(it wanted to be like its older brother - the R5 GT Turbo - used to melt like a choccy fireguard)

The Golf GTI W12 650 Concept, powered by a mid-mounted 6.0-litre 12 cylinder bi-turbo engine delivering figures of 650Hp @ 6,000 rpm / 750Nm @ 4.500 rpm, the GTI W12 hunts down 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in just 3.7 sec with a redline popping top speed of 325km/h (202 mph).

Extensive modifications including a lower and broader body than the stock GTI, additional air vents to cool the massive engine and the specially designed roof set an aggressive stance whilst still being respectful to the current Golf GTI.

Looks HOT and I want one!!!! DSG, 2 x turbo's and 12 cylinders!!!!!! :D

Ye i've seen that, a concept ONLY. they will never bring it out to production though. too much $$$$

its quick, BUT if can buy a R32 golf and pick up a twin turbo kit that will doing the 0-100 in 3 seconds flat and it'll cost you under $100K easy

They can have it!!! :D

Seriously though, **** me! :D:D:D

An R32 with twin-turbos would cost you around the $120k when done properly :p

Wraith
20th June 2007, 01:30 PM
120k should be enough to buy you the new R35 GTR Godzilla :D

Why would you even bother with an R32 twin turbo for a similar amount, ?? however I reckon you could do an R32 twin turbo conversion for much less than that ;)

New model Audi TT V6 quattro with twin turbo conversion, yes please - difference here is it's a much better and sexier car than any R32 Golf ;)

The AUDI TT is so wrong it aint funny the worst looking Audi ever i would say.Take the R32 over the TT any day of the week. But a S3 that is another thing altogether.

That's exactly the way I felt about the old model - looked like a cross between a helmet and an egg LOL :D not much of a drivers car either.....but the facts are it is Europes best ever selling coupe, so most obviously love it's looks...;)

This new one - different story, takes it's design cues from the new Audi R8, has good tech behind it, like 69% of body weight out of aluminium and can handle like a real sports car.

But yes looks is always an individual thing, each to their own.

With exactly the same running gear as the Golf Gti, it outperforms the later by a substantial margin

I've just finished watching that .. the VW sure sounded impressive but looked like an arse of a thing to handle. Even the Stig had trouble getting it round the track for a decent time.

For a show car built in less than 8 weeks it circulated the track in a time similar to a WRX STi. Mildly impressive don't you think ;)

Wraith
9th October 2007, 12:23 PM
Mildly, not overly yes - totally agree.....

Now imagine an Sti with equal power to that Golf, going round that same track, I'll bet that would be overly impressive :)

for a car with 650hp, its seriously unimpressive.

if i wanted something with huge power that couldnt go anywhere but in a straight line, i'd buy something american :D

BR was answering rjastra' comment and I agree with him...

Would anyone dare put a price tag on this Golf - certainly it'll be a totally ridiculous amount of money !!!

I'm sure most would consider other supercars in a similar price range

blueraven
10th October 2007, 03:50 PM
cheapest car with the W12 motor is over 300k ;)

min 300k for that car? sorry, i can think of at least a dozen that would rape it for less than that kind of money :D

(considering the Sti beat it round the track for 60k :D )

if you can afford to spend 300k on this you can afford to spend an extra 200k and get a db9..

Wraith
11th October 2007, 11:04 AM

NO WAY....

For 500k I'd get a Lambo Gallardo SE or Syder or a Ferrari F430.....IMO DB9 pales by comparison in this company price range .....

a gallardo is a nice toy, but for a car to drive, aston martin all the way..

oneightoo

Aston Martin looks hot and sounds nice but is a shit car to drive...references: Top Gear and Fifth Gear.

The Gallardo however.....serious performance car with an orgasmic sound.:D

you must have watched some weird korean spin off of top gear.. jeremy creams over how well the db9 does in all categories..

as far as supercars go, the aston drives a helluva lot better than the gallardo..
