Hi All,

Looking to see if there are any OA members that would be interested in a drive / track day at Wakefield Park Motor Raceway in Goulburn in either late June or early July.

If we can organise the snow trip Auzvectra is sorting to coincide then perhaps a stop over in Goulburn for those people too. :D

Its about 2.5 - 3 hrs Sth/West of Sydney, about the same Nth/East from Canberra.

Great little technical track that should see 1:15 to 1:30 times from the SRi'T's. I've driven it plenty in everything from my old STI, an Evo 6.5, 700hp R33GTR, Porsche Carrera Cup Car and a V8 Lites Car.

If we can get enough members we can hire the entire track, otherwise we can go on one of the specified Open Practice/Speed off the Street to pen track days.

Cost is going to be in the $100 to $200 range plus fuel, accomodation etc. Only other requirementws is a drivers license, full neck/ankle/wrist clothing (Jeans, long sleeve shirt and closed shoes) and a helmet. You can hire one at Wakefield for $20 I think.

If there is enough interest I will organise, otherwise we can sort something else out to turn up on the day under your own steam. ;)

Yep,

The open Practice days are usually pretty empty if you go mid week....

So either we book the entire track of the 30th or just book and rock up on one of the other days,

I've asked this question before i think and didn't come up with an answer of "go here" so i'll ask it again.
Does anyone know anywhere that offers non-competitive track day insurance?
I want to get out on a track i'm just not prepared to loose the car even though the risk it small i know i won't be able to actually drive the wheels off the car if i'm always thinking of what hangs in the balance if i crash.

I think you may find there is another car group going on the 30th as well, so if you want that day, you better book soon cause I know there is quite a few guys going from that!! :D

Well there are only a few that seem interested...It might be just a normal drive down and turn up sort of affair. We can let them know we're coming.

So if you're interested we'll start a list so put your name down...

Try contacting a Few Clubs & get a Combined Day.
Some of them dates Tony Listed would be taken up by the Isuzu Car Club & Toyosports Car Club, Which both combine for track days @ Wakefield Park.

There would be clubs that would allow you to Join them.

only need 400metres for testing the rest of the track(1.8kms)could be used as a return road i spose

i would love to do this but unfortunatly i cant make this.
i also think th 30th co-insides with the NSW cruise down the south coast, you might want to think about postin this in NSW forum and they might be able to include a stop over on the way thru.

Hey DEE80Y, great idea, yet Goulburn is just that little bit too far out. My mate is racing on this day at Wakefielde Park with his car club, and I would love to go watch, but since Kaoshunter has already picked the date for the South Coast cruise, priority is there. So bring on the CRUISE!!!

OK judging by the luke warm responses, I'm going to ring Wakefield and just go one one of their open drive days....

I'll post up when and if anyone's up for it, then we can cruise on down the road.. ;)
