Hello from Melb

Hi, Nick here. I've just bought an '03 Astra SRI 2.2. I'm getting it by next weekend (have to wait for it to get a RWC), really can't wait. Its replacing my first car, a 1983 Peugeot 505. I still can't believe I've just skipped 20 years of automotive development between my first and second car :)

Anyway, I'll post photos as soon as I get it. Its only done 52,000km and has a sunroof which is pretty cool. I've already ordered Opel badges for the front and rear, and will no doubt be asking for advice on further small mods including ICE from you guys.

I've been fascinated by Opels for a while now, and after spending some time in the UK figured I'd just have to buy one here!

I will have it by the end of the week. I don't have any major plans for it yet, will just enjoy having a nice car for a while I think! I wouldn't mind at some stage getting a decent audio system installed. Oh and while I've got Opel badges on the way will need to find out how to get one fo the steering wheel and also centre caps.

I'm sure all the answers will be already in the forums somewhere... time to start exploring!

Oh and someone asked where in Melbourne I am - I'm in the SE 'burbs, Ashburton area.

Well I just picked it up. I love it! Fantastic torque from that 2.2. I think it needs a wheel alignment though, steering wheel needs to be held slightly to the right to go straight. The weather is kinda stormy so will take photos at a later stage. Got tomorrow off work though, so might take it somewhere interesting :)

I took the SRI for a long drive (about 500km!) today, experienced all kinds of roads, although ended up on a rather bumpy dirt track up near Walhalla.
