It's called a Niki-650, ie a polish-manufactured Fiat-126.

It arrived in Australia early 1990's. You hardly see any nowadays... :sigh:

Am I the only person who feels this way?

I dont like them. I like old cars, but they dont tickle my fancy.
The foggies and sunroof is aftermarket?

Ahh the latter day equivalent of a Datsun 120Y, later to be succeeded by the late 90's Hyundai Excel.

Utter rubbish. But at least the Niki was semi-cute!

Yep, I know the Fiat 126 well.....when I was in Italy (a couple of decades ago) I got to drive it's successor the Fiat 127 and I really liked it, of all the Fiat's I drove the 127 was the 'neatest' machine, the Fiat 850 was the most entertaining and the Fiat 128 was the best sounding :)

But as mentioned above by others their appeal these days is not so great.

Funny you should mention it, but just this weekend I had a older man driving one in Brisbane tailgate me along Cavendish Rd for a few km's. This bloke must have been 80 and he sat cms from my bumper. When we approached a turning vehicle and the traffic in front of me slowed he nearly ran into the back of me. He swerved into other lane just missing me and lucky for him no one else coming. I was not amused!!!!!

Thankfully no accident occured :)

The Fiat Bambino was way cuter! (hmmm, typical, screw up a perfectly good design by trying to modernize it) :(

IIRC they were also given away on one of the saturday morning cartoon shows (which I thought was weird at the time) they were also about $9k drive away

hahahah - good old swing axle technology, I remember one magazine article where a staffer flipped one over because the camber angles the wheels achieved during a powerslide (if you can call it a powerslide)

10 year 11 students picked one up and put it between two trees the night of our senior's year 12 dinner. Was hell funny to see the look on his face when he came back to his car. Never bothered to find out how he wiggled it out.
