Yep, there finally doing one, first time ever, Porshe will have a 4 door sedan !
The main goal is to compete in the BMW M5 and equivalent Merc class the E55.
It's due to be available in 2009
It looks just like a stretched 911, nothing really different, not so much a bulky sedan like it's intended rivals.
Power plants, that's where the difference is - both V8 and V10 options, power levels ranging from 340 - 600hp (450kw)
Here's a pic, I kind of like it :)

Yes it's pretty, but, I'm bored!
Who cares about another $200K+ car. We need better 20-50K cars :)
ABout the 4-door Porsche, I think that this is a compromise that just doesn't make sense. You either buy a fast car or a family car in this bracket, don't try to combine the two...if you can afford one of these then you can afford a Cayman S (for fun) and a Audi A8 for the family.

True that, I don't think any of us here would bother with sedan in that price range, just interesting to observe the changing trends of some of the Worlds formost car makers is all....:)
As for top cars in the 40-50k bracket - How's about the new upcoming Evo 10 ralliart variant, (also 4 door sedan) latest info puts it at low 40's before ORC's.....now this is one car I predict will do extremely well on the market :)
Myself and oneightoo have our attention firmly focused on this thing, although I'll go the full spec model, priced higher at between 60-70k :)

A very smart decision from Porsche.... it just had to happen, and glad to see they are trying to remain true to their roots (well if a four door can be stated as such) :)
Love it actually

Sorry, I should have said very large and very fast…..I saw a picture of it next to a 911 and from the looks of it the car will be based on that Porsche 4x4 thing (Canyon)?

Bah gimme an M5 anyday over that, like said above looks like a stretched Carrera/Cayman!!!! M5 changes its styling a little from its smaller siblings, and actually looks like a proper sedan!!!! Plus the next M5 will have the power to match the Porsche sedan too when its released haha!!!!

With you on that one, the M5 is an amazing car! what are they going to do to it to make it faster, it already has 500bhp:dance: Maybe an organic manual model would be a good idea!
Id says this Porsche will be in the 7 series size bracket.
