hey fellas, was just wondering what this piece of rubber might be... looks something like the picture i drew up, it fell out of the bottom of my car when i closed the boot with a bit too much bang

it's an exhaust mount rubber ;)

On that angle, it looks like an exhaust mount, but i doubt it is, looks too small and wouldnt come off if ya shut your boot too hard!!!

Take it to your nearest holden dealer, or call them and give them the part number theyll let ya know what it is!!!!!!!!!!

its off the boot arms, they are stoppers, look where the boot stops, n u should be able to find on the other side, where that 1 goes

i managed to get a hold of 1 of the holden dealers and he said its 1 of the exhaust mounts right after he laughed.. =X

Yep, its one of them.

there are 2 'pins';
One on the exhaust, the other on the body.

It goes in between and holds the exhaust up. Its held there by 'magic', nothing else.

30 seconds to refit it, if that.

oh, u are right, didnt notice the size of it, way too small for an exhaust mount :(.

if it was about 5 times the size, it would be an exhaust mount ;).
mind u those holes prob dont go all the way thru too, so it would need to look the same on the other side to be 1 also.

So you contacted a dealer and gave them the part number, or did you just decsribe the part??

Cos if thats a exhaust rubber, its either really small or you have stupidly big hands!!! Plus it wouldn't come off no matter how hard you shut your boot, unless it was on the border of coming off beforehand!!!

Yeh it's a rear muffler mount... stick your head under and you'll see there will be one missing. Mine are on tight as tight, don't know how it just fell off.
