I have NEVER seen so many Arden Blue Astras in ALL my life. They sure are popular over there!!!

The Corsa VXR has a kind of cute hotness about it. The Vectra VXR looks awesome. It is our bad luck we miss out on these beautiful machines, even the Meriva, and Zafira VXR's are great.

AND that white Astra Coupe, is that your SRi or CDX? It looks HOT :eek:

Its Known as the Vauxhall VXR8 over there.
I believe the order bank opened in March.

Looks like Red and Arden blue are the most popular VXR colours....

Great to see the V8 heavy weights in there as well, so many Monaro's all bunched up together :)

The more I see it, I too am not so sure about the VXR Corsa's styling....

Aussie - what's the story behind this meeting? Why/how come all the product grouped together - was it only for VXR owners or some such?

story behind it all, 2005 was the release date for the astra VXR, Vxl had already put out the VXR220 and the Monaro VXR was already in the country but both in small numbers, the astra was really going to be marketed as such as the new comer in the already climbing hot hatch field and really the first "hot hatch" from Vxl since the late 80's GTE, now 800 pre orders ranging from 6 to 8 months had already been placed before the car had already been seen other than pics of the high performance concept, with the car due to be released Oct 2005 for customers there was an issue with the seal and parts of the body kit that through production on its as* and many people upset with waiting so long and watching theirs orders delivery dates moving back for the worse, During this time Vxl had a small number of pre production cars to use for shows etc, while the media was carrying out testing during July i was invited to Luton to test drive and see the VXR first hand and pass back my thoughts to the large numbers waiting on all the Vxl sites. Dec i approached the VXR managerment in regard to them backing some meets once the cars had arrived and it was agreed on staging 3 meets during the British Touring Car series, Vxl would provide infield parking and entry for the driver and put on some refreshements during the day and i would provide the numbers, as you can see its great marketing for VXRacing and with 3 successfull meets last year Vxl Motorsport have backed another 3 for this year and hopefully in the years to come, so thats really how it has taken off, Brands just gone seen 100 cars, Rockingham meet has already hit 153 cars and the final meet will be at Donnington in July.

As fr the corsa, pictures dont do it any justice, the car in the flesh does look impressive i must add and im never been a fan of the corsa range and wouldnt ever own one but the corsa VXR i would, well the wife has one on order, recent tests by a car mag over here have got its 0-60 time down to 6.49 with and average of 6.6 secs, not bad for a 1.6lt turbo, mapping and exhaust should be seeing it putting out 225bhp and with it being 200kg lighter than the astra even in standard form its going to give a scare to a standard Astra VXR and not forgetting the Focus ST and Golf GTi : )

Much better looking in the flesh im sure. But they still look hot in the pics. Honestly Vauxhall's VXR Models have a lot of Street Creed about them. you dont have to change the look of the car they already have an aggressive look. Its about time Manafacturers started doing this.

You would be correct in saying its a viva. but i they are sold under the Chev brand in the UK i think.
