Good
Very quiet with roof in place
Aadequate luggage space
Relaxing drive

Bad
Dash very similar to cheaper hatch
Weight dulls performance
Rough roads expose ride and steering kickback

That's a pretty good run down.....

Ian (Imay) has test driven one and written he's findings here also.

I believe nice car has also test driven one.

About the main complaint, is it's not so good power/weight ratio, as I've suggested, wait and hang in there for the turbo models to arrive, I know the turbo diesel is already being sold O/S, the petrol turbo must be in there too and it's only a matter of time before one or both are available here :)

When I took the twintop for a test drive, I told the sales guy it was to underpowered with all the extra weight. He thought that the Turbo will come out in a year- year and a half when the 2.2 sales slow down (like the G vert)

He said he would call within a week with more information when the Turbo would be coming to Australia. I never got a call :(

because he was bullshitting because there is no info on the Turbo TwinTop

I think that when the turbo one comes out (please, please, please) I may just have to consider adding one alongside the Veccy :)

Nice choice, I envy that, I too would love one, but I've decided to go different for my next purchase, no.1 choice ATM, the new Evo 10.... :)

I am sure the Evo would be a far better drive.... but want something Eurpoean still :)

Probably, he could have at least called me and said he could not get any information.

I found the dealership very unprofessional as well. There were 3 sales guys talking doing nothing and the sales guy who was going to take me out on the test drive was busy with another customer so I had to wait for an hour and a half for a test drive... I should have just walked away and gone somewhere else.

I would never now buy a car from Brian Gardener, Perth.

Now that is shocking. I would write a letter to the dealer principal and tell him/her how disgusted you are and about how much of your time was wasted and how you will never buy a car from their dealership and how you will persuade every other person you know to avoid their dealership like the plauge.

I'll have both

I'm keeping my TS vert and at this stage my Cali as well..........:)

And maybe my missus might get herself the all new Audi TT.....WOOOHOOO

Plenty of Euro in my garage :D

Regarding the twin top turbo variants - regardless of what GMH dealers will tell you (half the time they don't know better, half the time they just hold it back, if they do, to try and flog off current stock !) they DEFINITELY will be here eventually !!!

Whether it be a limited run (like the TS) or not, they will be available eventually ;)

If you want a reasonably powerful hardtop convertible then get an Eos. Turbo diesel and petrol models.

I saw like 10 of EOS cruising around Auckland yesterday, they must be selling like hot cakes, very nice little cars….im yet to see a astra twin top on the road:confused: !

I think if I was to go for a hard top convertible it would be the new MX5:cool: !

Yep, that's a nice choice . . . . if you stand only 4 foot tall! Have you tried getting into one of them with the roof in place? Better still . . . have you tried getting OUT of one of them with the roof in place?

I really do like the MX5, but only to look at. Sorry, I'm too long to enjoy it!

The Eos is probably the best hard top vert currently around in it's price range.

They are fantastic and VW got it right with these cars as they are only released with turbo petrol and turbo diesel engine choices - no underpowered atmo's to worry about !!!
