haha don't laugh.... i used to own a gemini, and i knew it was based on a kaddett. that's how i knew about opel, then i learned that astras and vectras were opel. i originally was going to get an astra GSi but then i realised i could get a vectra for around the same price at the time and i preffered a sedan, then i looked for opel badges and found a boot badge a month later. i'd hardly seen any opels on the road at the time too. this was back in 2000

Take note of the South African Version of the GSI called the SuperBoss. That car obliterated anything in its path in its time, and is still bloody quick....

Speaking of Chevette, back in the UK in the 80's when I was getting around in RS2000 Escorts, a mate of mine bought a Chevette GSR, the one with the 2.3 Twin Cam motor in it - I never stood a chance!

Then to rub it in another mate went out and bought Talbot Sunbeam Lotus - a relatively plain/ordinary hatch-back in normal guise but quick as with the Lotus motor in it!

Ill take the GTE ... pitty, the GTE has 150 bhp and the newer astra mid rang has what, 91 meh

The thing sounds like it could take on 6's and win possibly giveing 8's a good run between the lights.
