Total Vauxhall magazine feature Castle Combe race track

On Monday (05/03) a few of us VXR owners plus one 888 cdti owner was invited by Total Vauxhall magazine for a feature spread conducted at Castle Combe race track, started off with a few timed laps sessions on our own which i came unstuck in one of the first bends running semi slicks on a damp track but managing to keep it on the asphalt and no damage, a courtenay stage 3 car managed the quickiest time of 1min 33, the best i could manage was 1min 36 in the wet, once the track dried up later in the morning i was able to get that time down to 1min 26 with the stage 3 courtenay car improving by 2 sec to 1min 31 sec's with others ranging from 1min 33 to the 40's, was a great day to have the track to ourselves up until lunch then it was static and driving shots by the photographer for the rest of the afternoon, magazine will be out in 2 months with a cover feature,
here is a few pics i took on the day that i thought i would share with my fellow Australians : ) p.s. the weather really turned it on for us in the afternoon and pelted down with rain and heavy winds, typical UK weather lol

I See Louise's VXR There Shane . Were you Quicker then Her Car which is Done by the VXR Preformance Centre?

on track mate probably a good 15 to 20 seconds per lap but it comes down to driver, i went out with the 888 cdti in one session and he stayed right behind me on the warm up lap and by the time the 20 min session was up i went to lap him and followed him back into the pits, so it all comes down to driver, handling and set up over outright power. My laps times of the day was said to be the quickest of all the astras but then i have done a few track sessions in the past and probably the best track spec setup car on the day

It was a fun day and all enjoyed themselves.
