Opel/Vauxhall Astra!!!!

Its nocked off the Golf from the top spot.

Europe’s best selling model during 2006 was the Opel/Vauxhall Astra, which successfully knocked the VW Golf off the top spot. Renault Clio sits second in the chart followed by the Ford Focus while the VW Golf has now slipped to 4th position.

it appears that the VX / Opel have struck gold with the H ! - in any format they have produced (Hatch / Sporthatch) it looks AWESOME !!

Even the lower end models look good as the majority are shipped with 'all the toys' - Alloys, Air con CD player etc etc etc

they are all directed to the fleet and hire markets over here so that would account for a high number of sales, but that said, i know a number of people who have bought them with cash out of thier own pockets !!

they are still V goo dvalue for money too ! :clap:

for £17k ($42k AUD) you can get a reasonably spec'd 1.6 SXi - with additional VXR Styling pack - see bellow (yummmmm) - I added leather too :D

Must admit we do seem to get shafted on most things - Cars, CD's DVD's etc etc etc - the rest of europe just point and laugh at 'us Mugs' :(

I don't think sales of the 4x4 turbo were much even in Europe, the N/A 16V models sold like hot cakes :)

The V6 did very well also.
