Is the VX200 coming to Australia ? I heard some talk they were going to import the lotus elise which is basically a VX200 and chuck some Holden badges on it. Has anyone heard this or got further info? It's quite an impessive car.............

News to me mate...
I heard it wasn't cost affective and Holden or HSV wern't interested to bring them here in low volume :(

it will all depends if theres a market for it plus the RRP attractive or not ...

Read on a bit further and you'll find that the VX220 STARTS at 26,500 UK Pounds. That makes for a pretty expensive 2 seater in $A. Might as well go out and buy yourself a Honda S2000 now and save the hassle (and your money)!

the lotus elise is out here.
and has been for a while

the vx220 and the elise use the same chassis. just different bodys and engines really.

VX200 is the turbo, yes?

Yes it has the Z20LET Turbo engine same as the astra T.
If the VX220 came out here it would cost alot. Plus Elise is own by Proton, while the VX220 is opel's. Also i heard there doing another proton/elise look alike car, that there thinking of importing, its in last issue of wheels magazine.

elise is ok but will never touch the performance of the VX220............there is now a 220bhp sprint model with plans to make an even faster VXR model.............supercar performance at a fraction of the cost :twisted:

The VX220 comes with the standard 2.2L 108Kw engine.
The VX220 Turbo comes with the SRi Turbo 2L engine (147kw).

The new Elise 111R comes with the 140kw Celica VVTi-L engine.
