Idler Pullys

[WLD-18L]

My car has began to make a slight rattle when i start it. but it goes away as the car warms up. the noise sounds like its coming from somewhere off the belt. i sprayed a bit of oil on the belt and it stoppend the noise....untill the oil wore off.

i then looked through my astra manual and saw that idler pullys are due for a change. so iam gussing this is whats creating the noise. ill get a new belt and idler pullys next service and see how i go.

anyone eles ever come accross this problem.

idler pulley would probably only need to be re-tensioned... but opels being opels its a replacement....

and oil is baaad for drive belts... don't do it again!!

could also be time for an oil change
