Guys --
Tim supplied mine, from the UK. Fast delivery, kit was complete with a few bolts that weren't needed, but pretty expensive (what isn't?) and only uses Paypal. See how you get on, and let us know. I'd be interested in what his price is now.

Good luck,

I'm talking to a guy in Singapore who does the http://www.raid-rdi.com/cgi-bin/db-e/db.cgi?db=zubehoer&gruppe=Haubenlift&marke=OPEL#tabelle]Raid (http://www.raid-rdi.com/english/index.html?[url) Bonnet Lifters[/url]. I'll advise what cost is like when I get an email back from him. Shipping will be direct into Darwin too which is good for me. :D

HOw about some more detail. What exactly did you ask for to get them from holden and what is the price?

sparksy -- I asked the question for my wife's Barina, and came up empty. On closer inspection (and comparing to my Astra lifters) I don't see where/how a set could be applied to a Corsa/Barina anyway. Might be out of luck there!

alli really know is that they are off a commodore, not sure what. the gas struts will have my bonnet sitting in the right spot though, it wont look out of place.

when i asked about them, all i said to my other half was have you ever seen astras come in with gas struts and he told me no, just sb corsas and told me that he has a set coming in this week which i can have.... so as for price, i dont know sorry... :(

once i get them, i'll let you know. he did say he should have them by the weekend

Anny chance of copping an eyeball at them when they land? I only live around the corner from the RSL and would love to see them before you fit them. I should join the rsl while I'm at it.....

not a problem - I shall be happy to show off my struts.
also love you to join the Kew RSL - only $10.00 for social membership ~ best beer in town and always 15 to 20 cents a pot cheaper than the local pubs.
Better clientel as well.

Darwin's had the lowest temps on record and the wettest June on record and its only the 2nd. Hell must be close to freezing over. ;)

Guess it will have to do. :(
Give us a bit of feedback. How well they fitted, whether there was much drilling etc etc.

I found this:
http://www.mt-motorsport.de/
and they have them at a nice price (Euros) and will even ship internationally apparently though I'm yet to confirm. They have the RAID lifters for E$35.

Email tim at [email protected] and organise it through hime. He uses paypal so is much easier to transact.

Just checked my emails and I see that Donny (Singapore) quoted me S$80 for the RAID gas bonnet lifters so I dunno why you paid S$130.

Looks like mt-motorsport.de are willing to ship to Au depending on whats ordered. They have them for E$35. Check out their online shop if you're interested. It's all in german but you get the gist of it if you have a look through all the sections. Lots of Opel stuff there.

I got mine from Tim ([email protected]) and they were on my doorstep within 7 days of ordering/paying, complete with all the bits necessary (I just added a couple of s/s washers). Just bolted them straight in the next afternoon. About $A65 (from memory) through Paypal. I have been quoted up to $A60 EACH strut from a local supplier, plus fittings will need to be individually machined. Use Tim -- easy, easy!
E-mail Tim and mention that other guys at OpelAus have got struts from him and I'm sure he will look after you.

are they just a bolt on kit yeah?

imay
3rd June 2004, 12:45 PM
OPL-20T -- Nup! A 5 door CD, and yes, the ones I got from Tim just bolt into holes already there in the guards and onto the hinge on the bonnet. No drilling. Just a couple of spanners/sockets, a triple jointed wrist and a broom handle to hold the bonnet up while you fit the cylinder. I used a few stainless steel washers as spacers on the guard and had to remove the rubber bumper closest to the windscreen on the bonnet. That's all! Done in about 20 minutes all up.
To close the bonnet, I just lower it gently, then give it a nudge home by pushing on the grille.

Your a camp????? Hope you meant CHAMP!!!
I've been called lots of things, but never that!

Corsa B struts obviously available, but Corsa C, NO. As I said in an earlier post, there is nowhere to mount them on the C anyway.
And . . . 35 pounds + postage x exchange rate = well over the $A65 they cost me. Keep in mind the exchange rate is on the way down again . . . bugger it!

OK then been contacted by a couple of people on here about these so I thought I'd show me face.

I can do these to AUS at £30 UK pounds inc postage out to there and can accept credit card/ paypal payments

I generally have these in stock for the astra 2,3,4 which translates to the opel e,f and g

The three and 4's are very different btw espesially the fixing points

I also do them for the corsa B, Calibra, Vectra and CAV to name a few

Other bits I do and sell can be seen on http://www.calibra-gallery.co.uk and then click on the for sale sign

If anyone wants smallish stuff shipped from the UK i use and abuse the postal service in this country on a daily basis so dont mind sending stuff on as long as my cost and time is covered.
