Always been 'a bit' of a fan of the Nissan GTR's not really for their questionable aesthetics, but for their engineering prowess and performance.

This latest model however seems to look not too bad at all.

Here are some of the latest spy pics of the type scheduled for release sometime in 2008 (some of you may have already seen these).

Main features will be a 3.8ltr twin turbo V6 (previously rumured to be powered by a 3.5ltr twin turbo or 4.5ltr N/A V8) of around 450hp (331kw) and an updated 4 wheel drive and steering set up and based on a coupe, not sedan platform, right from the beginning.....:)

2008 seems to be the year for quite alot of new releases - interesting/exciting times ahead for car enthusiasts :)

Yeah in the past few years pretty much all the Jap hero cars have died, GTR, Supra, RX7, NSX im sure ive missed others, but im glad theyre beginning to appear again!!! For me, im still waiting for a new RX7, the RX8 is just not the same, its so slow, bring back a turbo rotary!!!!

Yeh looks fantastic. Definately see the similar design language between it and the little brother 350Z.

Actually don't be surprised if it hits our showrooms !!! :) would be great :D

It will be in the U.S. I think for the first time.....

There are plenty of new hi po Euro releases coming to Oz. Audi R8 etc. so Jap brands might want to compete as well.

If you really like the Rx8, there is a speciacally made turbo kit for it, available from a tuner in N.S.W. :)

At least with that it'll have some respectable torque behind it ;)

New Rx7 will be something alright, hopefully it'll have a fresh new look and not resemble the Rx8 too much.

I suppose they'll price it according to it's direct competitors/rivals - BMW M3, Mazda Rx7, Audi R8 etc....

Hopefully it won't be totally ridiculous like when Nissan briefly sold the R32 back in the early 90's.

I remember checking one out, it was something like 130k on road  ouch for a Nissan back then !

Yeah they struggled out the showrooms and ended up being $90k to rush the last few out!! Those were the glory days when the GTR took over the Touring cars!! '92 bathurst, my favourite race ever!!! GTR won on 3 wheels!!!

This car will most likley be avaliable here. Unlike the skyline, this car is intended to go global. Trademarks for the car have been registered here.
