Tinting Tail lights

Just curious to know how to tint my tail lights? I did talk to the people who tinted my windows (and I do not recommend them) and they said there is a spray or something I can use. Does anyone know if this is correct and what the stuff is?

Niteshades if you want a DIY job. Then use a clear gloss spray after. Should be able to get it from a Supercheap Auto store. If not try ebay. Costs around $18 a can. I used two cans for my tail lights, 3rd brake light, side blinkers, and eye lids. So 1 can should do.

got mine from Germany, I would surrgest up grading your bulbs to how power LEDs size BA15

I asked about a clear after and they said not to bother because it comes with a clear coat as you mentioned, but after applying it i wasn't too impressed with the clear coat. So i did an extra 2 clear coats on top of it

Yeh, I was going to get the black altezza ones but I originally wanted to just tint them and after seeing someone's tinted I loved it all over again. I think it was Laurie's I saw. So for now I will tint and if I fall out of love with them I will invest in the Altezza's. :)

i think lauries are proper sri ones though, not the spray can job. otherwise i got no idea why he would have got them from germany!

depends how you are going with your car i spose...

and the tints are alot cheaper, just be carefull you dont go too dark as its illegal!

Yeh I meant that they have been tinted. I dont know how though. I seen on ebay a guy who just sprays them and sells them so I'll save myself $200 and do it myself!

yerr mine are simerla to those on ebey but were $150, but i wanted a spare set of lights incase i didnt like them, and takeing into post cost the cheapest option was those in Germany. If u want the lights off the SRI they are approx $600 from Holden

u should talk to R3N his are a lillte tined and look good
there are not any reflectors in the rear lights on the C they are in the rear fog lights

Whats the legality on tinting lights?, my father said its illegal (quick run its the police) but it should not matter because as long as people can still see/notice the lights working behind the tint it should be ok IMHO.
But it still looks badarse having a decent looking tint.

Ok well the requirment is basiclt reflectors on both sides of the car 3 stoping lights, night lights and a reverce light. All of witch can be see on my car. I have up graded the rear bulbs to LED replacment thou and they are bright. the only situation were i have encounted a problem is if i have my head lights on durring the day and the sun reflecting on the rear of the car, it is hard to see the different streath in the red lights, simple solution to that is that i dont drive around durring the daylight with my head lights on

Hmm i don't see the point in tinting light green or red. Just my opinion though. That would attract police more than black I would imagine.

as long as the lights have and are still emitting the same light colours (amber for side repeaters, red for stop and position, white for reverse) i believe it does not matter...

some Peugeot, Alfa and Audi models (sold in Aus) have the rear lights in complete red colour...

definiately, black lights on black car will look great.
