Has anyone attempted to replace door trims themselves?

I have bought the supplies and have the instructions but keep stalling for fear of botching the first attempt. I would appreciate any tips and would love to see the end results.

Have you thought about getting a damaged door trim from a wrecker and practising on that first. Get it right on that one and then try one of your doors. Sorry, about the best advice I can give as I've never attempted anything like that before.

I replaced the trim on an escort a few years back with marine vinyl and that seemed pretty easy. This time around I am using Alcantara and the moulds in the door are a little intimidating.

I will hopefully attempt a rear door this long weekend and will post some pics. Thanks for the good luck.
