thanks :)

i also have to decide whether I go wheels first, or a sunroof, or the uber expense of going body coloured side mouldings.

Go the rims, then colour coding and then the sun roof.

colour coding's such a pain though, gotta go buy new mouldings from the CDX, then have them painted. i had they mouldings of my 02 sri painted, and they never looked right to me.

Fair enough. Can really finish a car off though, like HOTT4U's Astra below...

It's also difficult to find a paint match for it, as I have looked, and none of the auto stores have t he right code!

colour matching is easy, you need the code from the tag under the bonnet.
You could also get the paint from your local Holden spare parts, they'll look up the code from the original delivery documents.

If you look by the name, I found it doesnt work (as there are about 1/2 dozen sapphire blacks from Opel)

Yeh I tried that. The paint code starts with an 8, and the shops have nada. Might add paint to the "to buy" list from Holden. Hopefully it comes in aerosol...

When I got my paint matching done from the code, it was found under Opel. The Holden 'sapphire black' code was not the one for my car.

Get them to check all the Opel/Vauxhall/Holden lists, one will have the right code

NFI, theres a body coloured plate thats been riveted on with lots of digits and letters. Its one of them. Its not as simple as colour=xyz.

They wrote the whole plate down and checked every code until one came up, even then when it came up as Saphir Schwarz(its the german translation) they said nope, i told them to mix it up, they were still doubtful.
